Summary
From SoftLINK version 11 support has been included to allow the Tutor Console to connect and monitor Chromebook Student devices.  In order to connect to the Google Chromebook devices the SoftLINK Name and Connectivity Server is required for the Google Chromebook Devices to connect too. Each Google Chromebook device that connects to the Name and Connectivity Server will need to be licensed. SoftLINK School Chromebook licenses can be purchased independently of the main SoftLINK product and are registered with the Name and Connectivity Server by loading a new license file (NSW.LIC).

The NSW.LIC file controls the number of Google Chromebooks that can connect to the SoftLINK Name and Connectivity Server.  If this file is not present, then the usual Name and Connectivity License File (NSM.LIC) will allow Google Chrome Devices to connect to the Name and Connectivity Server but this will also reduce the license count available for SoftLINK Students operating on Windows.

Details
In order to apply the NSW.LIC file to your Name and Connectivity Server please follow the steps below:

1. Log onto the machine running the Name and Connectivity Server component with Administrative rights.
2. Browse to the following folder location: C:Program Files (x86)SoftLINK Class Control
3. Copy the NSW.lic to the above location.
4. Next open the Services list on the machine and restart the Server named Gateway32.

Restarting the Gateway32 service will update the Name and Connectivity Server ensuring that the newly applied license file is read by the Name and Connectivity Server.
