Summary
Occasionally we have to troubleshoot an issue with our LINK System.  Are there any precautions that we should take when we are maintaining the LINK System?

Details
When troubleshooting an issue with your LINK System or performing maintenance on it, we advise customers to power down the equipment prior to connecting or disconnecting any of the bus cables.  As with all electronics that provide power, plugging and unplugging live connections poses a risk of shorting out equipment.  The LINK System’s bus cable provides power to all of the LINK Control Units (LCUs) and if the system is not powered down, the live voltage is present on the bus.  Powering the LINK System down completely will eliminate all chances of inadvertently shorting out a component.
